Makeup Tips For Girls Beauty

Makeup Tips For Girls Beauty

You heard it here first. Makeup is experiencing a new shift. A change in textures, new colors and a whole different look is coming your way. And it’s all starting with the Fall Trends for 2012. Are you ready for a change?

What’s New for Fall 2012:

1. Matte Skin

For fall skin has taken a more matte finish but is still natural in look. Dewy, shiny, glowy skin is fading out, and to achieve the new matte look, just apply your liquid foundation as usual, with a soft dusting of powder on top. Loose Powder is perfect for this and gives just the right look of touchable matte skin. Or touch on a shine mattifier on the t-zone on top of foundation or on bare skin. The look is matter skin that’s natural looking, but not packed on with
foundation or caked with powder.

2. Softer Blush

Blush is slowly fading out…you’ll see less bright shades, with more of a realism in color than ever before. Strong flushed cheeks are becoming softer, with tones in soft rose and beiges being the perfect cheek tones for fall. There’s also a new placement, with blush being applied as a very natural flush on the tops of the cheeks as opposed to the apples of the cheeks. Just start application at the tops of the cheekbones and work towards the apple. Another new way of blush is a return to the 70′s “c” look. Take your blush and apply on the tops of cheekbones and then up
towards the temple, doing a half circle around your eye.

3. Dark Dark Eyes

Yes, smoky eyes are still in and it’s all about black. Rim inside and outside the eyelashes with black pencil and you’re set. Try this look for both day and night in different variations. For day, add a light gray eye shadow smudged on the whole eyelid for a softer version. For night, go with a warmer brown or sandstone color. The new eyeshape? Emphasizing the crease has given way to shadowing the entire eyelid with a medium shade. Smudge the shadow into the eyeliner on both top and bottom and bring out to emphasize a rounder shape on the eyes. No winging out and no frosty highlighter on the browbone will keep this look new.

4. Nude Lips

Nude, coffee and sand colored lips. Nude lips are back and more modern with a soft matte finish. And matte doesn’t have to mean dry lips. To keep lipstick on longer, apply a soft touch of lip balm or chap stick first and then your lipstick. Use a cream lipstick and blot down to a matte finish. Also, the lip line is cleaner, but not perfectly drawn on.

5. Lip Gloss is Fading Away

Glossy lips have all but disappeared, making way for the newer matte textures in lipstick. Update your clear gloss by using a touch instead on the brow bone and even on the eyebrows. Pair up with a nude lipstick and soft pinks on the cheeks for a great new natural daytime look.

6. Glitter and Frost

This season, it’s all about matte textures and perfect skin. So unless you’re a rock star, keep the glitter and frosted eyeshadows and lipsticks at home.

Perfect Beauty Cosmetics For Girls

Here are my top wishes when it comes to buying makeup.

Perfect Beauty Cosmetics For Girls

1. Foundation

The right foundation will even out your skin tone and give you the appearance of flawless skin. But you have to do it right, otherwise you risk looking like a … clown. Follow these steps for a flawless complexion.

2. Concealer

It has to cover, otherwise, what’s the point? So I’m a fan of those stick foundations, such as Max Factor’s Pan Stick (it’s been reformulated, so it’s much better than you remember), and Kryolan’s stage foundation (found only in Beauty Supply/Theatrical Supply). Definitely thicker than your normal concealer, but it’s also formulated to ‘stick’, so it lasts forever without disappearing on you. Also ry the new Full Coverage Foundation from Mac. For best results, apply with a damp sponge.

3. Powder

Aveda’s loose powder , and Mac’s Loose Powder is a close second. I want powder that sets quickly, has no feel, no fragrance (nothing like scented powder up your nose! cough cough!), and not be so heavy that you look caky within minutes. Both of these fit the bill nicely.

4. Blush

My biggest pet peeve is blush that looks great on, than disappears 2 hours later (I could have sworn I was glowing a minute ago!) Mac’s blushes have great colors and great staying power, a real reason that they’re #1 in most professional makeup artists kits. Also try Loreal’s Cheek Stick for a great affordable cream blush.

5. Mascara

The winner by a landslide, Lancome’s Aquacils and Intencils. In waterproof and non-waterproof versions, their mascaras do a dramatic job in making your lashes look much darker, longer and thicker. Stays on forever, and washes off easily and painlessly. I hope they never run out! Too pricey for you? (I thought so too, until I used them and believe me, it’s well worth the $!) Try Max Factor’s 2000 Calorie Mascara. Great thick lashes as well and Revlon’s Lashful Mascara.

6. Lipstick

I’m a huge fan of “Jane’s” lipsticks and Wet & Wild. Great natural color selections and long lasting wear without the drying out effects. (#23-Jane is a staple, I think I bought about 10 of them so I’ll never run out.) The hardest part is finding them! Try your luck at Target.

7. Pencils

Okay, are we asking too much here? Pencils that go on, don’t run and smear and draw on easily without killing your eyelids. Is that too much to ask? I think by far the hardest makeup item to find, but I think I found it. “Makeup Forever” in #25 is a bit pricey (around $18 I think, for a pencil??), but it’s super long and lasts forever. And it’s a warm brown that I use for everything, brows, eyelids, lip liner. Aveda’s Sepia Eye Pencil is a close second.

8. Eye Shadow

I love Origins and Revlon Pro. Both stay on super long, easy to glide on and in great colors. If you’re trying to find your great basic colors, start here. Looking for the crazy, artistic colors?  Trucco, by Sebastian is known for their wide array of colors, you’ll go crazy at “Makeup Forever’s” counter, and Stilla has the most beautiful, wearable shimmers around.

9. Lipgloss

Okay, we want lip gloss that looks great, stays on, isn’t gloppy, and doesn’t smear all over your mouth like a 2 year old. Aveda’s “Ice Glace” is a staple of mine, on all counts for a soft shimmer that feels and tastes good. Also, I’m jumping up and down over Wet & Wild’s Crystal Clear Gloss. Super super super super shiny, without the stickiness. Heaven! It’s a great cheapie version of Mac’s LipGlass, without the tackiness.

10. Other

Shimmering looks are hot, and my two favorites are Toni & Guy’s Shimmering Loose Powder, and Mac’s Shimmering Loose Powder. Just touch on the high points of the face, and you’ll swear you look 10 years younger. A little hesitant? Try it out only at nighttime on that hot candlelight dinner date you have coming up. You’ll swear he’s falling in love with you.

Makeup Tips Building a Mascara Wardrobe for the Lashes

Makeup Tips Building a Mascara Wardrobe for the Lashes

Makeup artist Alice Lane is talking mascara. “Right now, I’m obsessed with Tom Ford’s Extreme formula. It’s got this big fat wand and it’s really, really black. It’s gorgeous. Fantastic. That’s what I use at night,” she says, before firing off a list of versatile, high-tech favorites—including M.A.C.’s Haute & Naughty (“amazing for bottom lashes”) and Topshop’s classic mascara (“a great chocolate brown for day”)—that she carries around in her kit.
Lane may be a professional, but the idea of creating a versatile mascara wardrobe—one supernatural lash stain for the weekend, another lengthening and separating formula for the office, a fattening and thickening alternative for parties, a waterproof tint for the gym—has made its way to the mainstream in recent years.
With beauty companies turning out better, smarter, longer-lasting pigments for fall—Clinique’s Bottom Lashes formula contains smudge-proof, thermally activated polymers that dissolve only in the presence of hot water, while Dior’s New Look is loaded with shiny, patented 3-D black-glass pigments—the possibilities can seem overwhelming. Here, Vogue sorts through the season’s best new and existing formulas in the service of rounding out your collection.

Art of Eyeliner

Art of Eyeliner

Lining your eyes is an art form, with many techniques available to attain that stroke of perfection. Having a proper working knowledge of those techniques—from smudging to creating a cat eye—and the right tools to achieve them are all that’s needed to become a master painter. Here are the essential tips you need to know to apply eyeliner.

Smudged Eye

What the Eiffel Tower is to Paris, smudged liner is to the smoky eye. To achieve this über-sexy look, makeup artist Nick Barose recommends starting with a pencil that is sharp and pointy “to really get into that lash line.” Try: L’Oréal Extra-Intense Liquid Pencil Eyeliner in Carbon Black. Simply skim your pencil along both top and bottom lash lines, not worrying too much about precision (this is the one makeup look where a steady hand doesn’t particularly matter). Then immediately smudge the color into your lash lines with a sponge-tipped smudge brush, taking great care to work quickly before your liner sets. Clean up any excess with a Q-tip dipped in makeup remover to ensure the look doesn’t get too messy.

Cat Eye

The classic cat-eye liner is perfect for giving you that coy, flirty look. While liquid liner is the obvious go-to (try Urban Decay 24/7 Waterproof Liquid Eyeliner), beginners can benefit from using a flattened angled brush and a gel eyeliner, such as Lancôme Liner Design Long Wear Calligraphy Gel Eyeliner.

“For perfect cat eyes, the key is making the right shape,” Barose says. Sit in front of a mirror, preferably one with a table or flat surface in front of it. Dip the angled brush into your pot of gel eyeliner, plant the elbow of the arm holding the brush onto the table (to steady your hand), and proceed to paint a thin line starting from the outer corner of the eye and working your way in. To make the process easier, be sure to look forward and slightly down as you apply. Always avoid tugging on your skin while lining. Constant tugging can leave a crooked line when you release the skin and can eventually cause wrinkles.

To create the signature flick at the tail, angle the flat tip of your brush slightly up and out. Press the tip into the skin to create the guideline for the flick and slowly sketch the wing at a slant. Then proceed to connect the end of the flick to your lash line, about one-fifth of the way in from the outer corner. You can choose to connect the line closer to the middle of your lid for a more dramatic look. Fill the flick in with gel eyeliner, and you are done. “Add some extra mascara on upper lashes, too, because that lifts the eyes,” Barose says.

Tightlining and Waterlining

For instantly defined eyes and thicker-looking lashes, line the inner rims of your lower lash lines—which is called “waterlining”—and the inner rims of your upper lash lines—which is called “tightlining.” A swipe of basic black waterproof liner (try Make Up For Ever Aqua Eyes in Black) is all you need here.

A Note on Types of Liner

While there are many different types, finishes and colors of eyeliners available, what you choose to go with should be based on the final effect that you’re seeking. Looking for something to complement your green eyes? Go with a purple-based liner, like YSL Dessin Du Regard Crayon Yeux Haute Tenue Eye Pencil in Smoky Purple. Want something more sparkly for a night out? Opt for a glitter liner, like Too Faced Starry-Eyed Liquid Eyeliner.
How do you prefer to line your eyes?

How To Apply Lip Stain

The Helpful Tips for Using Lip Stain for Perfect Lips

Lip stain differs from lipstick in the lack of wax; this cosmetic product is designed to stain the lips with color which will be longer lasting, and won’t smudge as easily as a lipstick would. A lip stain can be used as an everyday cosmetic if the color is light or it can be heavily applied to give a greater impact. Lip Stain will let the lip color stay on your lips for a longer time than your lipstick. Lip Stain is a simple substitute for your lipstick.

Lip stain is the next best thing to semi-permanent cosmetics, the kind of procedure that is designed to last for weeks or months. Lip stain may last one 24 hour period. Semi-permanent makeup is designed to last weeks or months. A lip stain can increase the look of flaws in the lips and if applied incorrectly can stain the skin outside your lips, which will be difficult to remove.

Types of Lip Stain Products

The application type of lip stain products is increasing day by day. When lip stains were first introced the application type was limited to only a few. Now, they are found with the following types of formulas:
  • Brush-on
  • Marker tip
  • Gel pumps
  • Cream or pot
How To Apply Lip Stain

Applying a Lip stain might be difficult at the onset. But once you get a hang of it, applying a lip stain is as easy as applying a lip color. Following these simple tips you will be able to apply lip stain and go on with your day without having to constantly re-apply color.

  1. Because lip stain tends to dry out you lips a little bit, I recommend having a serious daily lip moisturizing ritual and sticking to it. At night, when you’re applying face cream, massage some moisturizer into your lips too.
  2. It is mandatory to exfoliate your lips before applying a lip stain. Daily exfoliating might not be necessary but you require to do away with the dead skin by exfoliating your lips. The surface of the dry lips get smoothened by exfoliating it.
  3. It would be best to apply lip stains on a hydrated lip surface. Try by applying a lip balm, and thereafter apply the lip stain.
  4. Use a lip liner before and after the lip stain application.
  5. Do apply another color or formula lip stick over a lip stain.
  6. Apply the lip stain the same way you would lipstick center to corner for both upper and lower lips.
  7. A brown eyebrow pencil makes a great lip liner.
  8. Be fast in applying your lip stain as it dries up quickly and for reapplication you need to be fast.
  9. Before applying the lip gloss, you should let the lip stain dry up quickly. Reapplying the lip stain or putting up the lip gloss must be done accordingly with your make up requirements.
The natural look is also the nude look which is very hot right now. Isn’t it good to know that you can accomplish two of the hottest trends today with only two items of makeup? If you use the eyebrow pencil to line your eyes, you have enhanced the natural look.

  5. Lipsticks or lip gloss in natural shades like coral, peach, apricot and rose look great. Redheads who bring an artistic streak to applying make-up may also opt for the other extreme.
  6. Give your skin a light bronze on the t-zone. Be really subtle with your bronzer as it’s easy to over do it when you have pale skin. Over apply and you’ll find that you have a large streak across your face.

The Best Eye Makeup Tips and Tricks

Fabulous 6 Eye Makeup Tricks

Human eyes are the perfect revealer of not only joy and elation, but also of sadness, melancholy, and distress. The right combination of eyeliner, eye shadow and mascara can make your eyes appear larger than they are and also draw more attention to your face. Although eye makeup is one of the first types that many girls start to use, putting it on correctly to flatter the eyes and face is actually trickier than it looks. Learn how to artfully and professionally apply eye makeup giving your eyes that perfect oomph through some simple tips and tricks.

The Best Eye Makeup Tips and Tricks

  1. Apply a thin layer of foundation or primer on the eyelids to correct imperfections and create the perfect canvas for the application of color. In fact, eye makeup can stop here and you’ll still look pulled together.
  2. Choose The Perfect Colors: Considering your eyes and complexion, you have several options to choose your eye makeup colors. Say, for instance, you can experiment with smoky grey tones, blue, dark brown, light pink, white, and black for brown eyes.
  3. Highlighting: To draw attention to your eyes and give you a youthful glow, you should try adding some highlights in your eye makeup. There are highlighting shadows you can use for this, but standard white eye shadow usually works fine. Put a little of this in each of your tear ducts and right under your brow line. This will make you look awake and ready to start the day.
  4. Eye Shapes: Hooded eyes are sometimes called “bedroom eyes”, because the lids tend to look heavy and partly closed. There are two types of hooded eyes – those you are born with and those that you acquire. Applied correctly, eye color can help hooded eyes appear more open by minimizing the eyelid.
  5. Curl your eyelashes and apply one coat of mascara immediately. Open up your eyes and you have more defined and large eyelashes. However, if you have never used a lash curler, consult an expert to learn the right technique.
  6. Lining: Eyeliner draws emphasis to the edge of the eye and can work to help the mascara look even darker than it already is. It is quick to use, ease to work with, and great for making a wow factor out of nothing.
