David Walliams Wants Normal Baby Name

David Walliams Wants Normal Baby Name

British funny man David Walliams has vowed to shun the celebrity trend for unusual baby names because he is convinced calling his unborn child "Apple" or "Peaches" would be a "curse".
The Little Britain star and his model wife Lara Stone are preparing to become first-time parents, and he is adamant their baby won't be given an odd name.
He tells , "It's very hard because you have got a long time to think about it. But it's a bit of a curse if you're called Apple or Peaches or something like that. I think we are just going to go with a normal name."
Walliams, 41, goes on to voice his delight about becoming a father, adding, "I'm really excited about it because I've been writing children's books and you get to that age when a lot of your friends have kids and you start thinking, 'When's it going to happen to me?' It's lovely, it's a wonderful thing. We were just thinking about it now we're married and I'm quite old - I'm 41 - so I thought I better get on with it."
He adds of his wife, "Lara is great. I think that a woman is never more beautiful than when she is pregnant."

Alexander Wang is to become the new creative director of Balenciaga.
The New York designer will take over the helm of the French fashion house next week, replacing Nicolas Ghesquiere, who will officially exit today (30.11.12).
According to WWD, the choice of Wang suggests Balenciaga want to tone down the elitist, couture-like approach of Ghesquiere, and open up to a broader audience.
Wang - a designer prized for his sportswear approach and youthful energy - has previously said: ''Although we are an American brand, I think that is more to the sense of what is American sportswear, and things that feel very accessible and easy to wear. But at the same time we really see our audience and our consumer as a global citizen, someone who isn't defined by where they live or what kind of music they listen to, things like that. It's a sensibility that is much more individual.''
Balenciaga officials had no comment on the reported appointment while Wang officials did not respond to a request for comment.

Danny O'Donoghue understands why rock stars turn to alcohol and drugs on tour.
The Script frontman - who is currently touring the US with the band - thinks life on the road can be boring and empathises with rockers who rely on booze and drugs to get through their arduous schedules.
He told the fastmazaa.blogspot.com : ''Being on the road can drive you mad. A lot of people have likened it to being in jail. I think that's why a lot of rock stars take to drink and drugs - to take their minds off the craziness.''
Although the 32-year-old singer doesn't mind partying a little himself, he warns moderation is key and is careful not to fall into the pitfalls of other stars.
He said: ''It's a hard balance to strike because you need to be in the best physical shape you can.''
Danny also credits bandmate Mark Sheehan - who completes the band with Glen Joseph Power- with helping to keep him in check.
He added: ''I vowed I'd never leave my mother, but then puberty hit and I met [Mark]. My mum would say, 'You look after him' and he's kept me in line over the years.''

Kim Kardashian wore a figure hugging cut out dress in Kuwait

Kim Kardashian wore a figure hugging cut out dress in Kuwait

From what I know of Kuwait (which is honestly not that much), it’s one of the more “modern” countries in the Middle East. Which means a lot when you’re talking about women’s issues, specifically when seen through the prism of Islam. Still, if I was visiting Kuwait, I would still make the effort to dress and act conservatively. I’m not saying I would wear a hijab, I’m just saying… I would cover my cleavage and try to show some modesty out of respect. When in Rome, and all that. Or “when in Kuwait City” as it is.

So here are some photos of Kim opening a Millions of Milkshakes shop at a huge mall in Kuwait City yesterday. True, this outfit is “modest”… for Kim’s usual trashy, showy style. But I’m still kind of uncomfortable with all of the skin she’s showing. Maybe that’s wrong on my part… maybe what she’s doing here is incredibly feminist, only in a fame whore-y way that is hard to recognize. Kuwaiti religious figures are pissed off because… you know. She’s a twice-divorced, scantily-clad woman famous for a sex tape. Kuwaiti cultural activists are pissed off too because Kuwait regularly bans artists, musicians and actors from entering the country and Kim’s entrance is being called an “unacceptable hypocrisy.”

Something nice: Kim was mobbed by fans at the shop opening, and I genuinely think it’s nice that she made the effort to personally go to Kuwait to open a milkshake shop. You know? Real celebrities (meaning, movie stars) wouldn’t do that. Kim posed for lots of photos, she signed autographs and made milkshakes. She has fans there, and she treated them with respect.

Next stop for Kim… Bahrain. And the Bahrainis are PISSED. Bahrain’s Parliament tried to pass a resolution banning Kim from stepping foot on Bahrain’s soil, but the resolution didn’t pass. I wonder why it didn’t pass? Could it be that many of the politicians actually watch Keeping Up With the Kardashians?
