Ed Sheeran Was Drunk When He Learned About Grammy Nod

Ed Sheeran Was Drunk When He Learned About Grammy Nod
British singer Ed Sheeran heard about his Grammy nomination on a boozy night out with boyband The Wanted, and he vowed to have a new tattoo to commemorate the honour.
The flame-haired pop star was thrilled to learn his hit track The A Team is up for Song of the Year at next year's (13) ceremony but admits he was a little worse for wear when he got the call
He tells fastmazaa.blogspot.com , "I got kidnapped by The Wanted boys. They took me on their tour bus and I found out (about the nomination) after six or seven beers, which for me (is a lot), I'm a very cheap date. I can't really handle too many beers. So I was in a state anyway and, yeah, I just had loads of giggle fits... It was a pretty mental night."
Sheeran already has a vast collection of body art but is adamant that even if he doesn't win, he will still get a Grammy tribute inked.
He adds, "I'm gonna get a Grammy tattoo if I win a Grammy. I'm gonna get one anyway - a nomination, man, it's the s**t."

Helena Bonham Carter To Be Honoured For Film Achievements

Helena Bonham Carter To Be Honoured For Film Achievements
Actress Helena Bonham Carter is to be honoured by the London Critics Circle in January (13) for her outstanding contribution to film.
The British star will be presented with the Dilys Powell Award for Excellence in Film at a star-studded ceremony at the May Fair Hotel in London.
Bonham Carter will follow in the footsteps of Dame Judi Dench, Quentin Tarantino and Kristin Scott Thomas, who have all been honoured with the award.
She said, "To be chosen for this award is a surprise and an honour. I am delighted. It's always nice when critics say something nice about you for a change, and especially the critics in your hometown."
Rich Cline, chairman of The Critics' Circle Film Awards, adds, "Helena Bonham Carter is an undisputed star of British cinema and one the Critics' Circle is absolutely delighted to honour. Her filmography is packed with iconic, offbeat characters, each of which she invests with an unusual spark of humanity. She regularly receives nods from the Critics' Circle Film Award, most recently with two nominations in 2010, for The King's Speech and Alice in Wonderland. And she gave three unforgettable film performances this past year."

Jewel Records Duet With Kelly Clarkson

Jewel Records Duet With Kelly Clarkson
Singer/song writer Jewel has enlisted Kelly Clarkson for a revamped version of her hit Foolish Games.
The duo has reworked the 1997 single for Jewel's upcoming Greatest Hits release, and the former American Idol winner admits she was thrilled to record the track as it's one of her personal favourites.
Chatting from a studio in Nashville, Tennessee, Clarkson tells Entertainment Tonight, "This was actually supposed to be my week off, but I heard that she asked me to sing Foolish Games with her and I was like, 'Who cares about a week off when I can sing with Jewel?' I was very, very excited to be able to come and record with her. It's one of my favourite songs ever, so I'm pretty nervous about it - she sounds pretty bada**."
Jewel has also collaborated with Miranda Lambert's country girl group Pistol Annies for a new take on her break-up ballad You Were Meant For Me.
She explains, "It's really different. The first version is really hopeful and optimistic - this version isn't! It's full of angst."

Kristin Cavallari is hoping her forthcoming shoe line will be a success so she can then work on a range for children.
Kristin Cavallari wants to create a children's shoe line.
The reality TV star - who has four-month-old son Camden Jack with fiance Jay Cutler - recently unveiled her six-style capsule collection in collaboration with Chinese Laundry and is hoping if the range sells well when it launches in spring, she will be able to expand with a junior line.
She said: ''Kids shoes are adorable and would be fun, but I hope my shoe line is successful first and then I can branch out and do other things.''
Kristin enjoyed working on the collection and says she was very hands-on with the design process.
She told fastmazaa.blogspot.com : ''It has been awesome. [The Chinese Laundry team is] really good at listening to what I like -- they really get my style. We decide on colours and everything together.''
Kristin, 25, says the collection is influenced by her own sense of style and she also pays careful attention to fashion trends.
She said: ''I flip through magazines to get an idea of what trends are important. All of the shoes represent my style and what I like to wear. I like the bootie, but I've been wearing flats a lot because of my everyday life [as a new mom].''
And as well as her footwear collection, Kristin is looking forward to launching her jewellery range in the new year.
She said: ''My jewellery line [with Glamboutique.com] will be out in February, just in time for Valentine's Day.''

Peter Jackson's The Hobbit Gets Panned for Fast Frame Rate

Peter Jackson's The Hobbit Gets Panned for Fast Frame Rate
The Hobbit: An Unexpected Journey is in the news again, but maybe not for the right reasons.
Rather than going into the acting, the pace or the film’s faithfulness to Tolkien’s original, critics tend to get hung up on Peter Jackson’s unusual choice to film at 48 frames per second, instead of the industry standard of 24. While the visuals in this first installment of the trilogy are no doubt spectacular, the reviews are split so far. Wired magazine’s Hugh Hart calls Peter Jackson’s vision “insanely gorgeous”, while critics from The Independent and The Telegraph, among others, have panned the film, calling it “kitsch and alienating”.
The main criticism here is that the high frame rate exposes the production techniques, making the film look cheap and garish. Jackson himself defends the film, by saying that there are always those, who resist changes, but that the audience will be the ultimate decider for The Hobbit. The director goes on to say that he isn’t expecting the Tolkien adaptation to take any of the big awards this season, except maybe for the visuals and production quality.
This seems like quite limited praise for a film as highly anticipated as The Hobbit, but, with fans as devoted as the faithful “ringers”, “Tolkienists” and other such ridiculous designations, the film is set for a healthy amount of sales and probably a good run in the box office charts – 48 frames or not.
